Village trash pickup may change

Many Brady residents could be taking out the trash a little differently in the coming months if village trustees approve a new contract for waste collection.

With the current agreement expiring in May, the village board of trustees put the town’s waste collection contract up for bid, receiving two proposals for discussion at their March 9 meeting.

Waste Collections of Nebraska, doing business as Schaben Sanitation, offered a two-year contract. The residential rate would be $13.09 per household for residents with larger commercial containers costing between $43.59 and $90.73 each.

The other bid the village received was for a four-year contract from Dan’s Sanitation of Lexington. The village’s cost per resident would be $11.97 with larger commercial containers costing$40-$79 depending on size.
