Williams, others in legislative homestretch

As Nebraska legislators wrap up their short session April 20, State Sen. Matt Williams of Gothenburg said there’s still much work to do.

A group of 20 gathered on Saturday to hear Williams speak during Eggs & Issues hosted by the Gothenburg Chamber.

This year’s session of the Nebraska Legislature is coming to a close. With 10 days left in the session, Williams said they will be hectic.

“We are not slowing down over these last days. In fact it gets very busy,” Williams said. “There is a lot to still accomplish and many senators have priority bills that are still out there, so they are anxious to get to them. We also have a battle looming over taxes, and that will take up some time.”
