Poetry competition takes GHS students to new heights

In early January, Delaney Harm and Jocelyn Kennicutt attended a slam poetry club organizational meeting for food and socialization.

After watching videos of poetry competitors, they ended up joining the Gothenburg High School team, which is part of the Great Plains Louder Than A Bomb regional.

Slam poetry is described as a style that expresses a person’s personal story and/or struggle, and it’s usually presented in an intensely emotional way.
