Despite intense heat, Relay For Life goes on

Cancer survivors, caregivers and others gather in Lexington Friday for ‘No Place Like Hope’.

SURVIVORS & CAREGIVERS READY: Cancer survivors and their caregivers receive directions from Dawson County Relay For Life chairperson Jennifer Norseen (left) Friday evening in Lexington. The relay kicked off at 6 p.m. and ended at midnight. Temperatures hovered in the 90s, which made the bottles of water refreshing. Water was placed at several places around the Lexington High School track. About $ 54,089 was raised to go towards research to fight and find a cure for cancer. Eleven fundraising teams and 119 people participated. To view more photos, click on “Photos” in the navigation bar.
