Neighbors helping neighbors group intends to help eliminate nuisances

When a large number of letters were sent to village residents letting them know their properties violate nuisance ordinances, Brady village board chairman Todd Roe got an idea.

“I think if we’re going to enforce these rules, then we should provide an outlet for people to get the work done,” he said.

A group of volunteers met last week to form a cleanup assistance organization that will offer time, labor, equipment and possibly even financial assistance to help residents bring their properties into compliance with village rules.

“I want to offer people a group they can come to for help,” Roe said. “Maybe things have gotten a little overwhelming. Maybe they don’t have the equipment they need or they’re not physically able to get the job done.”
