School board approves policy changes ahead of first classes

Brady school board members made several changes to the district’s policies Monday night, finalizing the student and teacher handbooks prior to the start of the 2016-17 year.

In addition to reducing the user fee for one-to-one laptops from $50 to $30 and making the school day shorter, the board also addressed eligibility, retention and promotion, commencement, the superintendent’s evaluation tool and option enrollment.

The $30 laptop fee each student in grades 7-12 pays for the coming school year will serve as an insurance deductible should anything happen to the student’s device or carrying case.
