It’s a brand new day, and a great day to celebrate

Last week Gothenburg achieved what no other community its size in the country has done by becoming the smallest town in the United States to officially open a YMCA. In less than a year and a half from the time it was announced that Gothenburg Health, the City of Gothenburg and Gothenburg Public Schools had entered into an agreement with YMCA for a facility, the money was raised and the building erected. That is a feat that every resident in the community should be very proud of.

A large crowd gathered in front of the entrance of the new YMCA on the northeast corner of the Gothenbug Health campus Friday afternoon to celebrate the ribbon cutting and grand opening.
