Prom promises ‘Sweet Serenade’
“Sweet Serenade” will be reflected in decorations greeting juniors and seniors and their dates this Saturday during prom at Dudley Elementary gymnasium.
The evening begins with punch parties.
Juniors will gather at the home of Matt and Laura Lauer at 2009 Ave. G. Seniors will meet at the home of Mike and Kelli Teahon at 26 Wild Horse Road.
In case of rain, seniors will gather at the Monsanto Water and Utilization Learning Center.
Parties are from 5-6 p.m. with group pictures for seniors at 5:15 p.m. and at 5:45 p.m. for juniors.
Sophomore servers will meet at the Dudley gym at 4:30 p.m. They will perform a dance for parents and the public at 4:45 p.m.
Community members can view decorations in the school gymnasium from 1-4 p.m. Saturday and watch prom goers arrive at the school beginning at 6:15 p.m.
The banquet, catered by “The Main Course,” starts at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a program including a senior video and a dance by the sophomore servers.
Professional photographs of prom goers begin at 8:30 p.m. followed by the dance from 9 p.m.-midnight.
Complete Music of Kearney will deejay the dance. Doors to the dance close at 10 p.m.
Before students enter the dance, they will be tested for alcohol consumption by a Breathalyzer machine.
Anyone who has been drinking alcohol will not be allowed into the event.
Juniors will decorate for the prom Wednesday from 6-9 p.m., Thursday from 6-9 p.m. and Friday from 6-11 p.m.
A post-prom party is planned at the Cedar Bowl in North Platte from 12:30-4 a.m. The bus leaves Gothenburg at 12:30 a.m. and Cedar Bowl at 4 a.m.
Juniors are asked to return to the school from 4-6 p.m. Sunday to clean up after prom.
Pizza and pop will be served at 5:30 p.m. The head count for pizza will be at 4 p.m.
