Dudley Elementary staff performed a play in the performing arts center Friday, written by teacher Angie Richeson and edited by paraeducator LuAnn Houchin, which was based on the book “Horton Hears a Who” by Dr. Seuss. The performance was in celebration of Read Across American and the birthday of Seuss on March 2. Right the citizens of Who-Ville let Horton (Jim Widdifield) know they are there. They are, l-r: Wendy Bartels, Becky Gibbens, Christy Lecher, Julie Rickertsen, Jayne Eggleston and Jonathan Meyer. Left, a monkey (Kim Sudbeck) and kangaroo (Teresa Messersmith) tie up Horton to put him in a cage. Richeson said the theme of the play is: “Because, after all, a person’s a person, no matter how small.”
