Seniors will be together for the last time Sunday

One of the largest classes in recent Gothenburg High School history will take a final stroll Sunday, May 15, during graduation ceremonies.
Seventy-nine graduates will gather in the Community Building gymnasium for commencement ceremonies that begin at 2 p.m.
Seniors will enter the gymnasium to “Pomp and Circumstance,” arranged by Elgar and Hall and Elledge.
Musicians from grades 8-11 will play the traditional piece directed by band teacher Thomas Belanger.
Haydon McKenney will present opening remarks followed by varsity chorus members who will sing “For Good,” an arrangement by Stephen Schwartz and directed by music teacher Ernie Blecha. Marcia Speck will be the accompanist.
Varsity band members will play “Pixar at the Movies” which was arranged by Michael Brown.
Brennan Costello will give the senior address.
A senior video, created by the media class, will be shown. Superintendent Mike Teahon will then present graduates.
Handing out diplomas will be school board members Lisa Geiken, Bruce Clark and Scott France.
Tanner Schwanz will give closing remarks.
Graduates will leave the gymnasium as the band replays “Pomp and Circumstance.”
Junior escorts for the ceremony are Kelsey Wahlgren and Jeramie VanAcker.
Ushers are Josh Clark, Erica Houchin, Patric Jobman, Kerry McPheeters, Payton Prall and Leah Schwanz.
Senior class officers are: Brennan Costello, president; Tre Ostergard, vice president; Mc
Kenzie Geiken, secretary; Janae Wiggins, treasurer; and at-large representative Aaron Lauer.
The junior escorts, ushers and senior class officers are all chosen by the senior class.
After the graduation ceremony, the public is invited to join a congratulatory line for seniors in the main street area of the high school.
Colors chosen by the senior class are dark purple and metallic silver. The class flower is the tiger lily and the class song is “Time Won’t Let Me Go” by The Bravery.
