New hangar opens

FIRST PLANE: Right, Robert Mann of Gothenburg pulls his self-built aircraft, “Beryl,” into the newest hangar at Quinn Field at the Gothenburg airport. Construction of the 9,480 square-foot hangar, began in April and ended in July. The hangar has space for storage and six bays—five of which are leased—according to airport manager Dennis Brown, three by new customers. Brown said an old hangar (below) will be demolished to instead provide space to tie-down aircraft. The new hangar, in addition to engineering, concrete and seeding, cost $439,316 and will be paid for through a $270,800 interest-free loan from the U.S. Department of Aeronautics and a conventional loan.
