Six earn all-conference honors
Three Brady girls and three Eagle boys earned post-season recognition from basketball coaches in the Sandhills Conference.
Seniors Courtney Widick, Maggie Burke and Megan Polt were voted to the SHC all-conference team by coaches from the seven participating athletic programs.
Other players on the all-conference team and the school they represent are: Kelli Bowlin and Sami Schmidt, Cody-Kilgore; Sarah Ramsay, Hyannis; Madison Tomlinson and Clara Vinton, Mullen; Shelby Saner and Michalea Miles, Sandhills/Thedford.
Girls receiving honorable mention were: Neyva Flores and Taylor Vasa, Arthur County; Lindsay Adamson, Cody-Kilgore; Hannah Haney and Jessie Schwanebeck, Hyannis; Kaitlin Marten, Sandhills/Thedford; Torie Opela and Sammy Riedel, Stapleton/McPherson County.
For the boys, seniors Sawyer Burke and Tyler Egenberger and junior Zach Mann were named to the SHC all-conference team.
Other boys on the SHC team were Jordan Trimble and Hunter Walker, Arthur County; Riley Rice, Mullen; Cole Taylor and Tyler Lee, Sandhills/Thedford; and Austin Starr and Sawyer Hanna of Stapleton/McPherson County.
Players receiving honorable mention include Morgan Barnes and Chance Vackiner, Cody-Kilgore; Gunner Johnson, Hyannis; Josh Vinton, Mullen; Brady Marten, Sandhills/Thedford; and Chance Connell, Stapleton/McPherson County.
The three Eagle boys also garnered post-season recognition by the Lincoln Journal-Star.
Burke was named to the Class D-2 all-state second team by the newspaper while Egenberger and Mann received honorable mention.
