A 70-year-old Ansley man, who died in a collision with a Broken Bow school van Friday, is the father of Arlene Sheets of Gothenburg.

Albert Sherbeck, a farmer and rancher, died when the eastbound pickup truck he was driving on Highway 2 west of Ansley, crossed the center line and struck a westbound van, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

Also killed were the driver of the van, Zane Harvey, 38, and a front-seat passenger 24-year-old Anthony Blum.

Both were coaches and teachers at Broken Bow High School who were returning, with students, from a basketball clinic in Kearney.

Three of the eight Broken Bow students injured in the crash remain hospitalized—one in critical condition and the two others in fair condition, according to the Omaha World-Herald.

Funeral services for Sherbeck are Wednesday (today) at the First Baptist Church in Ansley.

State patrol officials said the crash remains under investigation.
