Reunion draws more than 160
More than 160 Brady High School graduates attended the 2012 all-school reunion dinner during Brady Days Sunday.
Honored alumni were the classes of 1961, 1962 and 1963.
Bill Rogers, a 1959 graduate, was emcee while superintendent Bill Porter gave the welcome and 1947 graduate Molly Brittenham Rundle offered the prayer.
The oldest graduate to attend was Evelyn Murphy Elsasser from the class of 1937. Also in attendance from the 1936 class was Maybelle Johnson Krekler.
Krekler and four Johnson sibling graduates participated in the reunion including Stanley Johnson (’41), Arnold Johnson (’44), George Johnson (’46) and Ilene Johnson Blattner (’48).
The Lindekugel family presented the school with a bench to be used in the commons. The bench was given in memory of Chuck and Florence Lindekugel.
Florence graduated with the class of 1935. Family members who also graduated from BHS are Jean Hicks (’65), Kathy Thompson (’66), Tom Lindekugel (’67), Barbara Franzen (’68) and Donna Kovarik (’78).
The Delores Gengenbach family also presented the Brady School Foundation with a donation for $1,000 during the reunion and Mary Stroebel Rodriguez (’63) presented the foundation with $500 in memory of her parents Carl and Ann Stroebel.
Foundation board members worked together to organize the all-school reunion. They are Pat Hoaglund (’78), Marge Spencer (teacher ’71-’73), Bob Golter (’67), Dee Ann Birkel (’57), Cathy Callahan (’73) and Lisa Mann.
Other alumni committee members Charlotte Palmer and Carol Reddick (’78) helped put together the reunion dinner.
The next Brady all-school reunion will be during Brady Days in August 2015.
