Four receive FFA’s highest degree
Four 2011 graduates of Gothenburg High School received an American FFA degree at the national convention in October.

FFA adviser Dan Scherer said the degree is the highest honor and award that a FFA member can receive on the national level.
“These kids had to show extraordinary effort to receive this honor,” Scherer said.
To get the degree, recipients must:
have received their state FFA degree
complete 540 hours of ag ed classes
have graduated high school
maintain a well-kept record book for four years, demonstrating management tools on projects
have earned more than $7,500 or worked at least 2,250 hours
have at least a 3.0 GPA
have volunteered more than 50 community service hours
have been a valuable member of the FFA, community and school by participating in at least 10 school and community activities.
