N-Power conference teaches leadership skills

The Gothenburg FFA chapter sent seven members to the N-power conference in Aurora July 8-10.

N-power is a premier leadership development experience for future leaders. At this year’s conference the members split up into groups and learned how to become a better leader.

Organizers began by breaking down students into groups based on what grade they were going to be in for this coming year. Each group was led by the state FFA officers.

The incoming freshmen learned about being part of a team, basic leadership principles, how to lead without a title, importance or getting involved and investing in others. There was many things to enjoy.

“One thing that i enjoyed the most was participating in the trust fall and ropes course,” said freshman Jesse Rudolph.

The sophomores gained knowledge about being a team player, how to risk boldly, prioritize and balance, how to be an effective communicator and also investing in others.

There was many things learned throughout this conference.

“I learned that every one has a talent and you must embrace it to become a better leader.” said sophomore Herschel Foster.

The juniors spent their time learning about living a life of character, how to use individual strengths, how to be a good role model, ho to build relationships with others and how to invest in others.

The seniors talked about how to lead, conflict resolution, having vision as a leaser, how to handle challenge and investing in others.

Every member had a power partner to talk to and get to know throughout the conference. By having this partner each member learned how to invest in someone else.

This conference was a great way for members to learn how to become a great leader.
