Garden enthusiasts gather
GARDEN CLUBS: Over 50 people gathered in Gothenburg last weekend for the 80th annual meeting of the Federated Garden Clubs of Nebraska.
The Comfort Suites Hotel was the convention site, although Friday the group toured Ehmen Park, which was recently named as a Nebraska Statewide Aboretum Affiliate. Jeff Kennedy, who is a city councilman and a member of the City Tree Board (far right), led the tour describing tree diversity in the park. M.J. Among the other presentations was one by Cindy Cooper of Gothenburg titled, “New Plant Varieties for 2014.”
