Eagle speech team earns high ratings at Wallace

WALLACE—Overlapping activities forced many members of the Brady speech team to miss their final round at the Wallace Invite on Jan. 16.

Still, the Eagles earned high marks in their events, finishing fourth of 15 schools.

Senior Danielle Gutherless placed first in both poetry and serious prose.

Fellow senior Chevas Shaw earned first in entertainment speaking and fifth in extemporaneous.

Gutherless and Shaw combined for sixth place in duet acting.

Several Brady participants were forced to leave the meet early to play in a basketball game, making them unable to compete after making the finals in their events.

Other participants and their ratings were:

Micah Most—two superiors in entertainment speaking; superior and excellent in informative.

Taina Taullie— superior and excellent in informative; excellent in duet acting with Amanda Lunkwitz.

Ethan Callahan—two superiors in duet acting with Jessica Schrad; superior and excellent in extemporaneous; superior and excellent in serious prose.

Jessica Schrad—two superiors in duet acting with Ethan Callahan; superior and excellent ratings in poetry.

Amanda Lunkwitz—excellent in humorous prose; excellent in duet acting with Taina Taullie.

Brodie Bock-Sullivan—excellent and good in serious prose.

Sierra Quadhamer—superior and good in humorous prose.

Brad Ward, Jeffery Simants, Kyle Pohlman, Brodie Bock-Sullivan and Tyler Egenberger—superior and excellent ratings in oral interpretation of drama.

Ryan Porter, Lincoln Blede, Preston Franzen, Kaleb Arterburn and Zach Mann—superior and excellent in oral interpretation of drama.
