Wolf, Hannon advance in Lions talent contest
District competition is April 18.
Two area youth will advance to the district level of the Lions Club youth talent contest after winning their age divisions in the local competition on Sunday.
Hope Hannon, a Brady fourth-grader, won the division for 9- to 11-year-olds with a vocal solo.
Vanessa Myers and Baleigh Abbott of Brady placed second in that age group with a duet dance routine and will serve as alternates.
Gothenburg junior Jessica Wolff will compete in the district contest in the 15- to 18-year-old division. She performed a vocal solo.
Second-place finisher Daniel Splane, who did a lip sync routine, will serve as the alternate.
North Platte youngster Samuel Dekleva earned the chance to compete in the district contest by winning the 8-and-under division with a piano solo.
Carter Jackson, also of North Platte, finished second and is the alternate. He also played the piano.
The Lions District 38L Youth Contest will begin at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 18, at the Sun Theater in Gothenburg.
