Terry Weeks, 66 - April 09, 2013Terry William Weeks, 66, of Gothenburg died Tuesday, April 9, 2013, at Omaha.
Services will take place at Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday, April 13, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Viter officiating. Interment will follow services at the Gothenburg Cemetery
A visitation will be conducted at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel in Gothenburg on Friday, April 12, from 1 to 8 p.m.
Weeks was born Dec. 13, 1946, at Gothenburg, son of Robert Lee and Dorothy Mae (Rose) Weeks. By the age of six, he lost both of his parents. His aunt Ellen raised him. She was special to him and he was able to care for her as she got older, said family members.
He grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School with the Class of 1965, then went to Denver for two years of drafting school at ITT.
On March 7, 1969, he married Marsha Werner at the Zion Lutheran Church in Gothenburg. To this union, a daughter was born.
Weeks was employed at Monroe Auto Equipment for 40 years. He was a member of the JC’s, and loved NASCAR, Husker football and Sandra Bullock movies, according to family members.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Robert Lee and Dorothy Mae Weeks; mother-in-law, Doris Werner-Earl; brothers-in-law—Terry Werner and Leo Sabin; aunt and uncle, Ellen and Brown Weeks; special friend, Cora Devine.
Survivors include: his wife, Marsha Weeks of Gothenburg; his daughter, Ramona (Brian) Wellmann of Gothenburg; two granddaughters—Kerry and Kasey, both of Gothenburg; sisters-in-law—Monie (Dick) Martin of Redmond, OR, Joyce Sabin of Gothenburg, Norma (Bob) Richards and Mary Buesing, all of Cozad; brother-in-law, Larry (Janice) Werner of Cozad; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Memorials are suggested to the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department, 602 10th St., Gothenburg, NE 69138, and ALS Association National Headquarters, 1275 K St. NW, Suite 1050, Washington, DC 20005.
