Barbara Ann Wick, 78 - June 10, 2014

Barbara Ann Wick, 78, of Elm Creek died Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services were conducted on Friday, June 13, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Elm Creek with the Rev. Neal P. Nollette officiating. Interment was at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery of Elm Creek.
Wick was born Feb. 2, 1936, at Grand Island to James A. and Julia E. (Dow) Brown.
She received her education from Grand Island High School, graduating in 1953.
Wick then moved to California and Colorado before moving to Elm Creek in 1976.
On Dec. 28, 1981, she was united in marriage to Roy Wick. Most recently, she had been employed as a greeter at Wal-Mart in Kearney.
She enjoyed crafting and raising dogs, according to family members.
Wick was preceded in death by: her parents, James and Julia; her husbands—George Kennedy and Roy Wick; a son, Keith Kennedy; two step-daughters—Darlene Wick and Patricia Greuter.
Survivors include: her daughters—Helen Kennedy of Kearney, Kathryn (Scott) Falkinburg of Pratt, KS, and Julie Nickel (Fiancé’ Martin Kelley)of Elm Creek; her son, Steven Kennedy of Kimball; 38 grandchildren and 61 great-grandchildren; step-daughters—Arlene (Charles) Clark of Brady, Mary Gray of Phoenix, AZ, Lois Smith, Christine Shahan and Kent Mays, all of Kearney, and JoAnn Rouse of Gibbon; step-sons—Larry (Gloria) Wick of Omaha, Don (Gayleen) Wick of Fleming Island, FL, Don (Denise) Wick of Elm Creek, Ron Wick and Virginia Evans of Riverdale, Tom (Barb) Wick of Holdrege and Ed (Paula) Wick of Phoenix; sisters—Marie Bernstracca of Grand Island, Mary Bee and Toma Heath, both of Wickenburg, AZ, Betty Green of Grand Island, Metta Smith of Portland, OR, Susie(Kenney) Perkins of Grand Island, Anetta Montgomery of Portland and Sandra (Don) Wolfe of Overton; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Elm Creek Fire and Rescue Department.
