Stephanie Dahl, 44 - July 04, 2014

Stephanie LeeAnna (Bucy) Dahl, 44, of South Sioux City, formerly of Gothenburg, passed away Friday, July 4, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer at a hospital in Omaha.
Memorial services will take place at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 9, at Sunnybrook Community Church in Sioux City. Burial will be conducted at a later date at the Omaha Valley Cemetery at Homer.
Dahl was born Dec. 5, 1969, at Sioux City, the daughter of Michael and Peggy Bucy. She graduated from Gothenburg High School with the Class of 1988. She then graduated from Wayne State College, and later from Western Iowa Tech.
On May 4, 1990, she was united in marriage to Thomas W. Dahl. To this union, four children were born. The couple recently celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary.
She opened and operated the “Dahl House Preschool” and ran a home daycare after employment with the Boy’s and Girl’s Home in South Sioux.
Dahl served as a South Sioux City council member and a volunteer firefighter, being dedicated to her community. She was also a Scentsy consultant in her spare time.
She was a member of Sunnybrook Church.
Dahl enjoyed spending time with her family and first grandson, Jackson, born in February, and was a constant supporter for her children during their numerous sporting events, said family members. She also enjoyed adventure, food and organizing parties and gatherings for different occasions, being surrounded by friends and family.
?She and her husband enjoyed garage sales and taking frequent motorcycle rides. She also had a love for Hazel, Dexfer and Chip, her beloved dogs, and was always helping anyone who needed an extra hand, according to family.
Dahl was preceded in death by: her grandfather, Dale Gatewood; an infant niece, Cara Eddie.
Survivors include: her husband, Tom of South Sioux City; her four children—Tomi Jo (Jon), Karlie, Chase and Kaden, all of South Sioux City; grandson, Jackson Jae Michael Moss of South Sioux City; her parents, Mike and Peg Bucy of Decatur; grandparents, Jerry and Barbara Bates of Decatur; father and mother-in-laws, Jug and JoAnn Dahl of South Sioux City; sister, Tessa (Nate) Darling of Niceville, FL; sister in-law, Sandy Eddie of Coleridge; brothers-in-law—Rick Dahl of Jackson and Pat (Nannette) Linsley of Ponca; special friend, Jill (Scott) Love of South Sioux City; numerous nieces and nephews.
