Benjamin (BJ) Margritz, 36 - October 31, 2014

Benjamin Joseph “BJ” Margritz, 36, of Brady passed away Friday, Oct. 31, 2014, following a courageous battle with brain cancer.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, at Bethel Evangelical Free Church, 2700 W. Phillip Ave. at North Platte. Burial will be at Ft. McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell with military honors.
A closed-casket visitation will take place at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel at Gothenburg on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 1 to 8 p.m.
Margritz was born March 10, 1978, at Sutherland. He grew up on the family farm south of Sutherland, and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1996.
He proudly served his country with the United States Air Force for eight years earning numerous awards including Airman of the Year. He served as non commissioned officer in charge for the Eglin and Nellis Air Force Base Honor Guards.
Following his service, he was employed with Orthman Manufacturing and Nebraska Machinery Company.
On Aug. 31, 2002, he married his best friend, Ashly, the family said. To this union, two children were born. The couple celebrated 12 years together.
?Margritz dearly loved his family and spent many hours on the lake at their home in Brady, according to family members. He enjoyed farming, boating, four-wheeling, his Jeep and time with family. His hearty laugh and beautiful smile that lit up a room will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include: his wife, Ashly Ann Margritz; his son, Kaden Margritz of Brady; his daughter, Makenzie Margritz of Brady; parents, Dale and Joyce Margritz of North Platte; a brother, Mick (Janette) Margritz of Hershey; sister, Stasi (Eric) Casida of California; nieces and nephew—Sam, Josh and Issac Margritz of Hershey, Tom and Elle Sones and Jackson Casida of California, and Chase and Brynn Dangerfield of Colorado.
