Delmar Hallsted, 76 - November 06, 2014

Delmar Allan Hallsted, 76, of Wisner passed away Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014, at the Wisner Care Center.
Services will be conducted on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Minnick Funeral Home of Wisner. Graveside services will take place on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Cemetery at Chadron.
A visitation will be Monday, Nov. 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home in Wisner.
Hallsted was born July 12, 1938, at Whitney to Alfred “Shorty” and Marie (Edwards) Hallsted.
He attended Flag Butte Country School and Chadron High School, later receiving his G.E.D. in 1972.
On. Nov. 12, 1960, he was united in marriage to Celia “Timmie” Schommer at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chadron.
Hallsted was employed at various jobs prior to becoming a brand inspector for the Nebraska Brand Committee.
He and his family resided at Chadron, Atkinson and Holdrege during his 35 year career. He was also a gunsmith and an auctioneer.
Hallsted enjoyed hunting, fishing and vending at gun shows throughout the area, according to family members.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Alfred and Marie; his wife, Celia; a grandson, Austin Hallsted.
Survivors include: his sons—Tim (Sheila) Hallsted of Gothenburg, Jon Hallsted of South Sioux City (Karen Hallsted), and Travis (Heidi) Hallsted of Pender; his daughter, Kim Hallsted of Denver, CO; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; sisters—Marlin (Stanley) DeHaven of Minatare, Lorna Grant of Casper, WY, Carol Barber of Hudson, CO, Yolanda (Eldon) Bartlett of Torrington, WY, Cindy (Norm) Peters of Dalhart, TX, and Lori Ann (Bill) Johnson of Torrington, WY; brother, Gary (Maxine) Hallsted of Platteville, CO.
