Burton Aden, 91 - December 22, 2014

Burton “Burt” Edsol Aden, 91, of Iowa, originally of Gothenburg, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2014, at the Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines, IA.
A memorial service will be conducted on Friday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. at Deerfield Retirement Community in Urbandale, IA. A funeral mass will also take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10, at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Grand Island. Interment will be at the Grand Island Cemetery.
Aden was born to Harvey W. and Martha Block Aden on July 10, 1923, in rural Gothenburg.
He served his country during World War II for three and one-half years with the United States Army Air Corp as a radio operator/gunner on B-17 and B-24 bomber crews.
Aden married Lorraine Ann Stolle in 1946, and to this union, six children were born.
His professional career included 38 years with International Harvester Company, 17 years with Nebraska Tractor & Equipment Company, and seven years as a manufacturer’s representative for Ballast Tools, Inc., retiring in 1990.
?Aden was preceded in death by: his wife, Lorraine Ann Aden; an infant daughter, Theresa Ann Aden; his parents, Harvey and Martha; two brothers and two sisters.
?Survivors include: his five sons—Thomas C. (Mary) Aden of Boise, ID, James J. (Jill) Aden of Atlanta, GA, Jeffery B. Aden of Des Moines, Christopher J. Aden of Washington, D.C., and Matthew J. (Sheri) Aden of Omaha; a sister, Norma Jean (James) Cunningham of Grand Island; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; niece, Dorothea Berke of Arizona; nephews—Timothy and Theron Wiggins of Gothenburg.
