Bernadine Fecht, 80 - January 29, 2015

Bernadine Joy Rasmussen Fecht, 80, of Gothenburg died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at Centennial Park Retirement Village in North Platte.
Services were conducted at the First United Methodist Church on Monday, Feb. 2, with the Rev. Joel Plisek officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Fecht was born Jan. 28, 1935, at Gothenburg to Clarence and Ruth (Slack) Rasmussen. She spent her entire life at Goth­enburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1953.
On Feb. 15, 1953, she was united in marriage to Don Bruce Fecht at the United Methodist Church in Gothenburg.
She was employed for numerous years as a dietician at Goth­enburg Memorial Hospital and School District 100R. She loved fussing over her kids and grandkids, baking cookies and playing card games with them, according to family members. Many games of pinochle, gin rummy and Yatzee were played with her family and friends.
Fecht was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church, belonging to the United Methodist Women’s organization.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Don in 2008; her parents, Clarence and Ruth; brothers-in-law—Keith Fecht, Harlan Ackerman and Mearl Wallace; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Fecht.
?Survivors include: her sons—Hal (Kendra) Fecht and Tim Fecht, all of Gothenburg; her daughter, Lori (Russ) Emken of Lincoln; grandchildren—Jori (Charles) Jones of Bellevue, Zachariah (Trenda) Fecht of Ashby, Jacob (Julie) Fecht of Gothenburg, Shannon Schwartz of Bennington, Braxton (Taylor) Fecht of North Platte, Elijah (Holly) Fecht of Elkhorn, IA, Zane Fecht of Omaha and Kolton Emken of Lincoln; great-grandchildren—Taylor, Sydney, Hunter and Archer Jones of Bellevue, Grady and Kyle Fecht of Ashby, Gunnar and Beau Fecht of Gothenburg, Xavier, Taegan and Layla Schwartz of Bennington, Henley Fecht of North Platte, Azura, Quintin, Tehgynn, Uryiah, Khallon and Lotus Fecht of Elkhorn, IA; sisters-in-law—Corinne (Carol) Sappingfield and Betty Fecht, all of Gothenburg, Bonnita (Dennis) Thompson of Fountain Hills, AZ, and Lorene (Dan) Billington of Folkston, GA; brother-in-law, John Burrell Fecht of Yakima, WA.
