Ronnie (Ron) Schmeeckle, 59 - February 12, 2015

Ronnie “Ron” L. Schmeeckle, 59, of Cozad died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at Cozad.
Services were conducted at the American Lutheran Church on Tuesday, Feb. 17, with the Rev. Jon Mapa officiating. Interment took place at the American Lutheran Cemetery.
Schmeeckle was born June 3, 1955, at Cozad, son of Donald and Florence Schmeeckle.
He grew up on a rural farm north of Cozad, and attended Kearney State College.
Schmeeckle was a member of the Quality Pork Board, 4-H, 81-R School Board, the American Lutheran Church and Wednesday night pool.
He enjoyed hunting, listening to music and playing the piano and guitar as well as attending live concerts, according to family members. He also enjoyed educational television, especially history, science and RFD-TV.
Schmeeckle especially enjoyed spending time with his three sons, the family said. He also enjoyed swimming, hanging out at Kent’s house and watching football games, and his dogs.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Donald and Florence; a nephew, Matthew DeLap.
?Survivors include: his wife, Kelly Schmeeckle of Cozad; his sons—Casey Schmeeckle, Archie Schmeeckle and Levi Schmeeckle, all of Cozad; brothers—Marlan (Sally) Schmeeckle of Gothenburg and Norman (Jean) Schmeeckle of Hastings; a sister, Marlene (Morry) DeLap of Lexington; his father- and mother-in-law, Blaine and Arlene Peterson of Gothenburg; sister-in-law, Kristi (Stan) Combs of London Mills, IL; brothers-in-law—Steve (Ligia) Peterson of Gothenburg, Gregg (Deb) Peterson of Lyons, CO, and Kent (Krystal) Peterson of Anchorage, AK; numerous nieces and nephews.
