Dorothy Fenner, 87 - March 03, 2015

Dorothy Delores Fenner, 87, of Gothenburg died Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg.
Services were conducted at the Zion Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 7, with the Rev. Carol Mapa officiating. Interment was at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery at Gothenburg.
Fenner was born Aug. 1, 1927, at Gothenburg, daughter of Herman and Rixte (Westerbuhr) Franzen. She was baptized and confirmed at the Christ Lutheran Church northeast of Gothenburg.
She attended grade school in a one-room school house and graduated from Gothenburg High School with the Class of 1945.
On Feb. 8, 1948, she married Rex Fenner. To this union, three children were born.
Fenner enjoyed teaching Sunday school and confirmation at the Zion Lutheran Church, and enjoyed being a sponsor of the Luther League, according to family members. She was a member of the quilting club of her church and sang in the church choir.
She also enjoyed her family, working in her huge garden and loved going to softball and baseball games, said the family.
?Fenner was preceded in death by: her father, Herman Franzen; her mother, Rixte Franzen-Harms; sisters—Melitta Antrim and Della Kuhlman.
?Survivors include: her husband, Rex Fenner of Gothenburg; a son, Eric (Beverly) Fenner of Gothenburg; her two daughters—Carol (Loren) Gronewold of Sedona, AZ, and Audrey (Terry) Haake of Denton; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Willard (Marjorie) Kuhlman of Gothenburg; sister-in-law, Crystal Johnson.
