Creta Garratt, 91 - June 09, 2015

Creta E. Garratt, 91, of Gothenburg passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015, at Stone Hearth Estates in Gothenburg.
Services were conducted on Monday, June 15, at the First Presbyterian Church of Gothenburg with the Revs. Jill Boyd and David Boyd officiating. Burial was at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
Garratt was born Sept. 11, 1923, to Alfred and Jesse (Beeson) Andrews at Hollenberg, KS. She graduated from Hollenberg High School in 1941 and attended Peru State College, later teaching at several small country schools in Kansas and Nebraska.
On July 21, 1946, she married Arlond Garratt at Hutchinson. To this union, four children were born.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, the family said, devoted to her family, friends and her church.
Garratt was a member of the Eastern Star for numerous years and was active in her church, helping in many ways. For over 20 years, she was a volunteer with the sing-a-long program at the nursing home.
?She was known for her daily exercise routine, her made-from-scratch cooking and her flowers and gardening, according to family members.
?Garratt was preceded in death by: her parents, Alfred and Jesse; her husband, Arlond in 2006; three brothers and two sisters, her daughter, Sherri Blase in 2002; son-in-law, Richard Blase in 2005.
Survivors include: her daughter, Kathy (Mick) Brosius of North Platte; two sons—Don (Sandy) Garratt of Superior, CO, and Roger (Kris) Garratt of Seattle, WA; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
