Dolores Stevens, 73 - August 28, 2015

Dolores R. Stevens, 73, of Brady, formerly of Gothenburg, passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Great Plains Health in North Platte.
Services took place at the American Lutheran Church on Monday, Aug. 31, with the Rev. Jon Mapa officiating. Interment was at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.
Stevens was born Feb. 15, 1942, at Grand Island to Roy Henry and Dorothy H. (Johnson) Schroeder. She grew up in Shelton and graduated from Shelton High School.
Following her high school graduation, she attended Kearney State College where she earned her degree in elementary education. She taught school at Gothenburg from 1962 until 1968, and in Brady from 1975 until 1996.
She married Dale Stevens on June 7, 1964, at the American Lutheran Church in Gothenburg. To this union, two children were born. She and her husband made their home in Gothenburg and later in the Wild Horse Valley and Brady area.
Stevens enjoyed arts and crafts, reading, recording family history, decorating and re-decorating, according to family members.
?She was a member of the American Lutheran Church, the Church Quilting Club and the Red Hat Society.
?Stevens was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Dorothy.
?Survivors include: her husband, Dale R. Stevens of Brady; her two sons—Matthew Dale (Jennifer) Stevens of Omaha and Mark Christian (Stacey) Stevens of Chandler, AZ; two grandchildren—Allyson Taylor and Regan Christine Stevens, both of Chandler; a brother, Eugene (Janet) Schroeder of Lewellen; a nephew, Tyson (Kerri) Schroeder of Ogallala; niece, Katie (Riggin) Epp of Lisco; numerous other family members.
