Norrene Anderson, 89 - September 04, 2015

Norrene Evangeline Bratten Anderson, 89, of Gothenburg passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2015.
Services were conducted at the Svea Dal Evangelical Covenant on Tuesday, Sept. 8, with the Rev. Ken Sawyer officiating. Interment was at the Svea Dal Cemetery at Brady.
Anderson was born Dec. 11, 1925, at Wild Horse Valley north of Brady, to August Edward and Minnie Ruth Thompson Bratten, the second of four children.
She attended Wild Horse Valley Country School and graduated from Brady High School in 1943.
During Confirmation training, she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior, stated family members.
Anderson worked three years at the Municipal Light Company in North Platte, and then attended a semester at Omaha Bible Institute. After moving back to the area, she worked two years at the public power office in Gothenburg.
On Dec. 14, 1949, she and Wilbert Anderson were married at the Svea Dal Covenant Church. To this union, five daughters were born. The couple resided at Wild Horse Valley until his passing on March 12, 1999.
She and her husband had opened their home to Jewel, her husband’s sister, where she lived six years.
Anderson had moved to her home in Gothenburg in July of 2002, then to her home at Stone Hearth Estates.
She enjoyed her family and their interests as well as crocheting afghans for grandchildren and others, according to family members. Prayer was an important part of her life, for loved ones and for others.
?Anderson was preceded in death by: her parents, August and Minnie; her husband, Wilbert; a sister, Eleanor Johnson; two brothers—Winfred and Dale Bratten.
Survivors include: her five daughters—Linda (Monty) Bowman and Carolyn (Boyd) Hicken, all of Gothenburg, Jeanette (Scott) Thomas of Ft. Collins, CO, Joyce (Jack) Miettinen of Grand Island and Michelle (Bryan) Hecox of Brady; 10 grandchildren—Kerri (Chip) Blowers, Kaysie (Travis) Haas, Stacy (Brock) Anderson, Ross Hicken, Lindsey Thomas, Ashley (BJ) Roth, Jackie Miettinen, Jordan Miettinen and Kaitlyn and Kam­ron Hecox of Brady; 14 great-children—Charlie and Brooke, Emily and Easton, Braedon and Lindley, Caedence, Braelynn and Breck, Olyvia, Alex, Gage and Kennedy; sisters-in-law—Dawna Bratten, Trudy Bratten and Jewel (Forrest) Johnson; brothers-in-law—Delmar (Pauline) Anderson and Wendel Anderson of Omaha; nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Svea Dal Evangelical Covenant Church, Youth For Christ of North Platte, and Gideons International.
