Francis Osborn, 62 - October 17, 2015

Francis Osborn, 62, of Gothenburg passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2015, at his home in Gothenburg.
Services will be conducted at the Gothenburg Presbyterian Church, 1020 Lake Ave., on Friday, Oct. 23, at 10:30 a.m. with the Revs. David and Jill Boyd officiating. Interment will be at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Osborn was born Oct. 22, 1952, at Gothenburg, son of Vance and Evelyn Osborn. He grew up at Gothenburg and attended schools there.
He joined the U.S. Marines and served his country from 1973 to 1977.
Osborn was married to Linda Wise, and later to JoAnn Kohler.
On May 9, 1986, he married Amber Whauktush at North Platte.
He was employed with the City of Gothenburg in the street department for many years.
Osborn was a member of the Gothenburg Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Pony Express Ramrodders, often cooking for their events. He also volunteered for the Civil Defense.
He loved to do mechanical work and work on engines, especially his motorcycles and old cars, according to family members. He also enjoyed hunting especially black powder. He loved horses and his cats were very important to him.
?Osborn was preceded in death by: his parents, Vance and Evelyn; an infant sister, Mary; a great-grandchild, Gabe.
Survivors include: his wife, Amber Osborn of Gothenburg; his children—Jeff (Dawn) Osborn of Tea, SD, Brian (Amy) Schroeder of Bertrand, Heather Schroeder of Gothenburg, and Jennifer (David) England of Yakima, WA; a brother, LeRoy Osborn of Gothenburg; step-siblings—Dan, Nate, Bill and Neda; numerous extended family members and his special companion, Bobo.
Memorials are suggested to the Presbyterian Church and the Children’s Cancer Research.
