Jeremy Bartels, 36 - October 21, 2015

Jeremy Michael Bartels, 36, of Brady passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015, at his home in Brady.
Services were conducted at the Brady Community Bible Church Tuesday, Oct. 27, with the Rev. Robert Litzenberger officiating. Interment was at the Gaslin Cemetery.
Bartels was born June 4, 1979, at Scottsbluff. He was a graduate of Brady High School Class of 1997.
He was united in marriage to Becky Stevens on Aug. 8, 2008, at her parents’ home north of Brady. To this union, two daughters were born.
Bartels was employed as a ranch hand in Colorado and Nebraska, and also as a cook at Shore’s and Shelle’s Place. Most recently, he worked for Peterson’s Well Drilling.
He was a lifetime member of the North American Fishing Club. He enjoyed grilling and cooking, fishing, camping, playing board games with his family, watching TV, gardening and canning, according to family members. He also enjoyed country cruising, always “looking for a new road to travel.”
?Bartels’ family was important to him and his girls were the light of his life, the family said.
?He was preceded in death by: his grandfather, Gerald Brown; a niece, Leyha Bartels; his great-grandparents.
?Survivors include: his wife, Becky: his daughters—Harley and Preslee; mother, Kathy Hoffman; father, Mike Bartels; stepfather, Ron Hoffman; a brother, Jason Bartels; sisters—Jill Miller (Jeremy Sundquist) and Angel Hoffman; his grandmother, Velma Jean Brown; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials are suggested to a savings account at Gothenburg State Bank for his daughters, Harley and Preslee.
