Willa McCaa, 86 - October 22, 2015

Willa Eileen McCaa, 86, originally of Farnam, passed away Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at the C.A. Mues Good Samaritan Center in Arapahoe.
Graveside services and interment took place at the Farnam Cemetery on Monday, Oct. 26, with the Rev. Neil Kloppenborg officiating.
McCaa was born May, 6, 1929, on a family farm northwest of Farnam to Henry H. and Hester (Carmen) Gewecke.
She attended country school for her elementary education before she and her family moved to a farm northeast of Farnam, where she then attended school and ultimately graduated from Farnam High School with the Class of 1947.
McCaa then attended Kear­ney State Teacher’s College and taught rural schools in the Farnam and Gothenburg areas. She also worked several summers at Estes Park, CO, which she thoroughly enjoyed, stated family members.
She met her husband, Thomas McCaa of Greensville, MS, while working at Estes Park. The couple were married in September of 1956 at the Methodist Church in Farnam.
Her husband served with the United States Air Force and she agreeably signed up for a life of travel as they spanned the globe with his various work stations, according to family.
?McCaa herself served as a substitute teacher at the various Air Force bases they were stationed at, and enjoyed fraternizing with the military wives and the military lifestyle as a whole, family said.
In late 1963, she and her husband adopted a son, Timothy Jon, while stationed at Istanbul, Turkey.
She was preceded in death by: her parents, Henry and Hester; a brother in-law, Leon Kotschwar of Farnam.
Survivors include: her son, Timothy Jon McCaa of La Quinta, CA; a sister, Muriel Kotschwar of Farnam; nephews—Brent (Peggy) Kotschwar of Omaha, Perry Kotschwar of Elwood and Bryan (Nancy) Kotschwar of Big Springs; a niece, Lana (Nick) Cate of Peachtree City, GA; numerous great-nephews and great-nieces and other relatives.
