Sharon Gunther, 74 - November 21, 2015

Sharon Gunther, 74, of Gothenburg passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015, at Gothenburg.
A celebration of life service will take place at the First United Methodist Church on Monday, Nov. 30, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joel Plisek officiating. Interment will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.
Gunther was born June 19, 1941, at Scottsbluff, the daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Ready) Eurich. She grew up at Scottsbluff and graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1959.
In 1959, she married Don Tompkins. To this union, two children were born. The couple later divorced.
She then married Dan White. They moved to Gothenburg in 1977, and in 1981, they were divorced.
On Dec. 17, 1982, she married Wayne Gunther.
Gunther was an avid bowler and a member of the Nebraska Women’s Bowling Association and the 600 club. She shared her love of bowling with her children and grandchildren, which has been passed on to a third generation. She won the National Family Doubles Tournament in 1998 with her grandson, Zachary.
She was a long-time member of the United Methodist Church.
?Gunther was also an avid Husker fan and enjoyed reading, fishing and camping, crafting, quilting and crocheting, according to family members.
?She was preceded in death by: her parents, Albert and Elizabeth; brother, Harvey Eurich; a grandson, Zachary Tompkins; great-grandson, Barrett Love; nephew, Chris Eurich.
Survivors include: her husband, Wayne Gunther of Gothenburg, a son, Danny (Mary) Tompkins of Scottsbluff; her daughter, Shelley Tetley of North Platte; five grandchildren—Dr. Rebecka (David) Tompkins-Rosmann, Melissa (Sean) Larson, Trevor Tetley, Megan Tetley and Leslie Tompkins; five great-grandchildren—Nathan Tompkins, Noah Schwarz, Mason Schwarz, Ruger Tetley and baby Rosmann; numerous nieces and nephews.
