Lorene Fenner, 96 - January 01, 2016

Lorene Bernice Fenner, 96, of Gothenburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at Kearney.
Services will take place at the First United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Jan. 6, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Joel Plisek officiating. Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.
Fenner was born April 19, 1919, at Gothenburg to John and Louise (Frank) Geiken. She lived her entire life in the Gothenburg community.
She attended Zion Lutheran Church and youth group, being baptized and confirmed April 21, 1946, by the Rev. C.H. Kemper.
On Sept. 1, 1947, she married Earl D. Fenner. To this union, three children were born.
Fenner was then received as a member to the Cozad Methodist Church on March 24, 1959, by the Rev. Nye O. Bond. After moving into Gothenburg, she was transferred to Gothenburg United Methodist Church in June of 1970 by the Rev. Hugh Houchin.
?She was also a member of UMW and other church activities, and the O.I.C. Club as well as volunteered at the Gothenburg Senior Center and at the Bloodmobile for over 40 years.
?Fenner was preceded in death by: her husband, Earl on Nov. 13, 1988; her parents, John and Louise; an infant brother; son-in-law, Gerald Greeley.
?Survivors include: her son, Darrell (Becky) Fenner of Louisiana; her daughters—Anita Greeley of Brule and Jalene (Don) Davis of Kearney; a brother, Alvin (Wanda) Geiken of Gothenburg; her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives.
Memorials are suggested to the Methodist Church of Gothenburg, the Gothenburg Senior Center or the donor’s choice.
