Milford Bratten, 82 - January 18, 2016

Milford Eugene Bratten, 82, of Loveland, CO, formerly of Gothenburg, passed away Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland.
Services were conducted on Friday, Jan. 22, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Loveland with the Rev. Sonja Pancoast officiating.
Bratten was born Aug. 10, 1933, at Hershey to Julius and Esther (Wahlgren) Bratten. He grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from high school in 1951.
In 1952, he married his high school sweetheart, Myrna Schulz. To this union, three sons were born.
He served in Korea and was staff sergeant when he was honorably discharged.
Bratten was employed with Prudential Insurance Company for 33 years. He was a staff manager at North Platte for seven years before being transferred to Loveland in 1969, becoming an agent. He received numerous awards of recognition during his time with Prudential, retiring in 1990.
He was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of Loveland and a life member of the Loveland Elks.
Bratten was an avid sports fan and also enjoyed trips to the casinos, family members said.
?He was preceded in death by: his parents, Julius and Esther; his oldest son, Rick Bratten, a sister, Maxine Camp; daughter-in-law, Debbie Bratten.
?Survivors include: his wife, Myrna; his sons—Matt and Wade (Lisa); daughter-at-heart, Kathy Benham of Denver, CO; five grandchildren—Erika, Travis, Trent (Lauren), Jace (Emily) and Seth; great-granddaughters—Adelyn and Emery; half-siblings—Kermit (Debbie) Bratten of Loveland, Verna (Glen) Williams, Carl (Terry) Camp and Steve Camp, all of Casper, WY; sisters-in-law—Vera Wolf of Gothenburg and Elaine Brown of Cozad; numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the Zion Lutheran Church of Loveland and the House of Neighborly Service of Loveland or a charity of choice.
