Janet Holstein, 67 - February 07, 2016

Janet “Jan” Ruth Holstein, 67, of Omaha passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016, at the Douglas County Health Center following a battle with cancer.
Graveside services took place at the Gothenburg Cemetery on Friday, Feb. 12.
Holstein was born Dec. 8, 1948, at Broken Bow, the daughter of Joseph A. Beck and Neva Bell (Bohlke) Beck.
She married Marty Holstein on April 24, 1998, at Las Vegas, NV.
Holstein was known as a hard worker and was employed with several jobs before her health forced her to stop working.
She loved cats and enjoyed rescuing them, according to family members. She also enjoyed going for walks and was a Big Red enthusiast.
Holstein also loved singing and had been a part of the Nebraska Choral Arts, and enjoyed listening to Christian programming, family said.
She was preceded in death by: her father, Joseph A. Beck; her mother, Neva Bell Beck Iler.
?Survivors include: her husband, Marty Holstein of Omaha; daughters—Jennifer Holstein of Lincoln and Jessica Holstein of Omaha; a son, Dustin (Hilary) Holstein of York; grandchildren—Trenton, Madison and Warren Holstein; a brother, Roger (Hanneke) Beck and family of Washington; niece, Kathi (John) Geringer and family of Omaha; a sister, Robin (Jim) Balthrop and family of Oklahoma; mother-in-law, Ruth Holstein of Lincoln; sisters-in-law—Margaret (Bill) Gibson and family of Fremont and Ellen (Pat) Beans and family of Lincoln; numerous other family members.
