Clarence Beck, 86 - June 20, 2016

Clarence C. “Bud” Beck, 86, died Monday, June 20, 2016, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO.
Memorial services were Monday, June 27, at 1 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel in Alliance. Inurnment with military rites was at the Nebraska Veterans Cemetery at Alliance.
Beck was born October 1, 1929, in Oxford to Henry and Lena (Adams) Beck.
Following high school, Bud began his career at the CB&Q. Railroad, where he worked for a short time before serving in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the war, he returned to work for the railroad, where he continued until his retirement from the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1984.
He married Joyce Wolzen on April 1, 1961, in Phillipsburg, KS. To this union, three children were born, Tory, Todd and Terri.
Beck was an avid fisherman and hunter. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and taking his grandchildren fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Beck of Alliance; his children, Tory (Regina) Beck of Bassett, Todd (Bobby) Beck of Rapid City, SD, and Terri (Jeff) Bruntz of Gothenburg; his grandchildren, Amber (Stephen) Gierisch of Eden, TX, Tyson (Weslee) Beck of Arthur, Kayleigh (Chris) Johnson of Bethel, MN, Taylor Beck of Colorado Springs, CO, Ashlee (Ryan) Bauer of Kearney, Matthew Beck of Rapid City, SD, and Matthew and Cassidee Bruntz of Gothenburg; and his great-grandchildren, Blake and Gracia Gierisch of Eden, TX, Skyler and Kobe Johnson of Bethel, MN, and Brit Beck of Arthur. He is also survived by his brothers, Donnie (Gail) Beck and Ronnie Beck, all of Omaha; his sisters, Helen (Sonny) Rhodes of Orleans, Phyllis Shurtz of Eufaula, AL, and Joetta (Dan) Craig of Holdrege; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Chuck, John, Kenny and Dean Beck.
