Anna Herbek, 96 - January 14, 2009
A visitation was held Wednesday, Jan. 14, from 1-8 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home at Cozad.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Cozad Cemetery.
Herbek was born on Aug. 2, 1912, at Glenvile to John and Inez (Leach) Lindeman. She grew up and attended school in the Glenville and Hastings area.
On May 5, 1931, she was united in marriage to Albert Herbek at Grand Island. The couple made their home at Spring Ranch, Hastings and Archer before moving to Cozad in 1944.
She enjoyed her family, her beautiful yard, clerking in downtown businesses and her little dog, Bibs, according to family members.
Herbek was preceded in death by: her husband, Albert; four brothers—Lewis, Lloyd, Raymond and Bud; a sister, Myrtle Ganow.
?Survivors include: her two daughters—Julie Lee Brown and Beverly Ann (Harold) Sweeney, all of Cozad; her son, Robert Raymond (Debra) Herbek of Lincoln; sister, Glendoris (Harold) Kissell of Hastings; three sisters-in-law—Florence Lindeman of Hastings, Delores Lindeman of Cozad, and Ona Lindeman of Banta, CA; seven grandchildren—Larry (Pam) Brown of Chandler, AZ, Pamela Sweeney of North Platte, Dustin (Melissa) Herbek and Bart Herbek, all of Lincoln, Tag (Tarie) Herbek of Omaha, Steve Sweeney and Kent (Misty) Herbeck, all of Cozad; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
