Betty Fecht, 85 - August 20, 2016

Betty Norene Fecht, 85, of Gothenburg passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at Gothenburg Health.
Services took place at the Brady United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Janie Freeman officiating. Interment was at Fort McPherson National Cemetery.
A visitation was conducted at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg on Tuesday, Aug. 23, from 1 to 8 p.m. with family members present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Fecht was born May 27, 1931, at Cambridge, the daughter of Lester and Fern (Bogel) Trosper.
She grew up south of Gothenburg, attended schools in Gothenburg and graduated from Gothenburg High School in 1949.
Following high school, she attended Kearney State College. Fecht was a school teacher for several rural schools.
On March 9, 1952, she married Keith Fecht at the Banner United Methodist Church. To this union, three children were born.
Fecht was a member of the women’s extension club and the women’s Methodist group, where she served as president and secretary.
?She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the quilt club as well as a member of other church groups and activities.
?Fecht enjoyed singing, attending Bible studies, gardening and canning, and especially enjoyed being grandma to her grandchildren, according to family members.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Keith; her parents; brothers—Paul and Lloyd; grandson, David Donner.
Survivors include: her sons—Wayne (Sandy) Fecht of Salem, OR, and Micheal (Mary) Fecht of Wray, CO; a daughter, Katherine (Jerry) Donner of North Platte; 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
