Joan Dishman, 68 - August 27, 2016

Joan Fay (Brown) Dishman, 68, of Gothenburg passed away Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Memorial services will be conducted at the Farnam Church of the Nazarene on Wednesday, Aug. 31, at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Cliff Transmeier officiating. Interment will take place at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Dishman was born June 11, 1948, at Broken Bow, to Ralph Vernis and Ruby Irene (Cronk) Brown.
She attended schools at Hendley, Lexington, a country school south of Gothenburg as well as Brady and Gothenburg.
She married Delbert Dishman on Aug. 23, 1963, at the United Methodist Church in Hershey. To this union, two children were born.
In 1977, she received her GED. She was a hard worker and drove truck for her husband her entire married life. She also worked other jobs including at Kelly’s Cafe, Kip’s Drive Inn, Wheeler’s and Daylight Donut.
Dishman enjoyed bowling, camping and her pets, though she most enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren, according to family members.
?She was preceded in death by: her father, Ralph Brown; her mother, Ruby Decker; a grandson, Matthew Peterson; brother, Vance; grandson-in-law, Regan Murray; three half-brothers, a half-sister; numerous aunts and uncles.
?Survivors include: her husband, Delbert Dishman of Gothenburg; her daughter, Corriene (Mick) Peterson of Gothenburg; a son, Delbert Todd Dishman of Sterling, CO; grandchildren—Christopher (Ashley) Peterson, Pete Peterson, Jake Peterson, Terri Landis, Kara Murray, Taylor Dishman and Kirsta Dishman; sisters—Patty Behrends and Beulah Miner; brother, Merton Brown; great-grandchildren—Bryce and Caden Peterson and Brody and Averi Landis.
