Gus Thompson, 2 days old - October 08, 2016

Gus Lawrence Paul Thompson, two days old, of Gothenburg passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at Gothenburg Health, due to a Congenital Heart Defect.
Services were conducted at the American Lutheran Church on Friday, Oct. 14, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jon Mapa officiating. Burial was at the American Lutheran Cemetery.
A visitation took place at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel of Gothenburg on Thursday, Oct. 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. with family members present.
Thompson was born Oct. 6, 2016, at North Platte, son of Derek and Jessa (Ehlers) Thompson.
“He was loved by his big brother, Gunner, who held and loved on him for the short time he was with us,” said the family.
Thompson was preceded in death by: his grandfather, Steve Ehlers; great-grandparents—William and Evelyn Little, Lawrence Reinke, Don Ehlers, and Don and Shirley Thompson.
?Survivors include: his parents, Derek and Jessa Thompson of Gothenburg; his brother, Gunner of Gothenburg; grandparents—Ernest, Jr. and Jennie Rodriguez of Gothenburg, Darren and Patty Thompson of Cotesfield; great-grandmothers—LaVon Reinke of Hebron and Jean Ehlers of Minden; uncles—Dustin (Jordan) Ehlers and Dane Ehlers of Gothenburg; aunts—Dodi (Brad) Outterkirk of Grand Island, Kelli (Emmett) Stout of North Platte and Alexzandria Rodriguez of Overton; cousins—Devin, KaySee, Katelyn, Macey, Evelyn, Braden, Liberty, Brynleigh, Brantley and Jack.
