Frances Schultz, 87 - January 16, 2017

Frances B. Schultz, 87, of Gothenburg passed away Monday, Jan. 16, 2017, at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg.
Services were conducted at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel on Monday, Jan. 23, with the Rev. Jon Mapa officiating. Burial was at the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Schultz was born March 6, 1929, on a family farm north of Willow Island, the daughter of Cobus and Hedwig “Hattie” (Gerdes) Ostendorf.
She resided in the Gothenburg area all of her life, and was baptized and confirmed at the St. John’s Lutheran Church.
On June 29, 1952, she married Harold Raymond Schultz at Gothenburg. To this union, three children were born.
She was employed as a dishwasher at several cafes over the years.
Schultz was a 50+ year member of the American Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being part of the Women’s Circle, her church and family events, according to family members.
She also enjoyed making pretty things including embroidered table clothes, dresser scarves, cross stitch, crochet and needlepoint, family stated.
?Schultz was preceded in death by: her husband, Harold Raymond Schultz in 1998; her son, Charles David Schultz; a grandson, Cory Schultz; her parents, Cobus J. and Hattie Ostendorf; her siblings—Sophie Brecks, Ida Lindner, Margaret Schnackenberg, Cobus G. Ostendorf, Marcus Ostendorf, Edward Ostendorf, Orville Ostendorf, Vera Caroline Schmitz and Mary Ann Williams; three siblings in infancy.
Survivors include: her daughter, Carol (Ronald) Ackerman and family—Jason (Tracy) Ackerman and their children—Bailey, Makenzie, Tyler and Landon, Rebecca Sutton and children—Danielle and Joey; her son, Raymond (Ruth) Schultz and their families; numerous extended family members.
Memorials are suggested to the Schultz family.
