Cecil Krepcik, 93 - January 21, 2017

Cecil G. Krepcik, 93, of Farnam passed away at Golden Living Center in Cozad on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017.
Services took place at Trinity Lutheran Church on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Jeff Cottingham officiating. Burial was at the Farnam Cemetery.
Krepcik was born May 24, 1923, at a family farm home east of Somerset and west of Wellfleet, to William F. and Theodora (Dunton) Gaedke, the sixth of nine children.
She attended elementary school at the rural school District 58—Rose Valley School—near the headwater of Medicine Creek. She attended high school at the Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis, graduating in 1943. She taught school for one year at District 48 in Lincoln County.
Krepcik was confirmed July 6, 1941, at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wellfleet. She transferred to the American Lutheran Church at Gothenburg in 1947, where she taught Sunday school classes.
On April 8, 1944, she married Emil E. Krepcik of Farnam at North Platte. To this union, four children were born.
?Krepcik worked at the Stockville post office and then became the postmaster at Curtis in 1984, retiring in 1991.
?In her free time, she loved gardening, reading, doing crosswords, cats, singing and playing the piano, according to family members.
She was proceeded in death by: her husband, Emil; a daughter, Shirley; grandsons—Steven and Paul; her parents, William and Theodora; and her siblings.
Survivors include: her sons—Emil, Jr. (Paula) Krepcik, Calvin (Charlene) Krepcik and Neil (Chantelle) Krepcik; 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorials are suggested to the Farnam Volunteer Fire Department, the Trinity Lutheran Church and the Gothenburg Public Library.
