Michael Kindsfater, 42 - January 21, 2017

Michael G. “Mike” Kindsfater, 42, of Kearney passed away Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017, at his home in Kearney.
Celebration of Life services were conducted on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 10:30 a.m. at the Evangelical Free Church in Kearney with the Rev. Brian Klein officiating. Burial was at the Kearney Cemetery.
A visitation will take place one hour prior to services on Thursday at the church.
Kindsfater was born June 8, 1974, at Hastings to Gil and Mary (Glenn) Kindsfater. He grew up in Kearney and graduated from Kearney High School in 1993, and Hastings Community College in 1996 with a degree in hotel/motel/restaurant management.
He went on to management positions at McDonald’s Restaurant and Red Lobster, and for the past 15 years at Little Caesar’s where he was known by many as “The Pizza Guy,” according to family members.
Kindsfater will be remembered for his ever-present smile, infectious laugh and big heart, stated the family. He was passionate about sports, spending time with family, friends and his beloved cat, Budda. He was often called “Uncle Mike” by others.
?He was preceded in death by: his mother, Mary Glenn Kindsfater; grandparents, George and Timna Kindsfater, Harold Bick and Howard Glenn; a brother-in-law, Mark Johnson.
Survivors include: his parents, Gil and Marianne Kindsfater of Kearney; sisters—Monica Kindsfater and Melanie (Dale) Kindt, all of Kearney, and Molly Johnson of Lincoln; niece and nephews—Madison and Matthew Johnson of Lincoln, Conner and Trevor Kindt of Kearney; grandparents, Ethel Glenn of Kearney and Ardyce Bick of Farnam.
Memorials are suggested to Crossroads Rescue Mission of Kearney and the Kearney United Way.
