Roger Koch, 67 - February 07, 2017

Roger L. Koch, 67, of Cozad, formerly of Farnam, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at Cozad following a courageous battle with cancer.
Services took place at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel on Monday, Feb. 13. Interment was at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.
Koch was born April 2, 1949, at Elwood, son of Lorenz and Elsie (Weber) Koch.
He served his country with the U.S. Army from 1969 to 1972.
On June 18, 1975, he married Kathy Stinman at Stockville. To this union, a daughter, Lacy, was born.
Koch was employed with Paulsen’s for numerous years as a heavy equipment operator.
He was a member of the Lions Club and the breakfast club.
Koch enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes, and he loved to tell jokes and play tricks on people, according to family members.
?He was preceded in death by: his parents, Lorenz and Elsie Koch; a brother, Michael E. Koch; nephew, Michael Babcock.
?Survivors include: his daughters—Lacy (Cory) Chapman of Holdrege and Mandy (Case) Morse of Grand Island; sisters—Shirley Tafoya (Dean Stevens) of Gothenburg, Sandy Babcock of Mount Blanchard, Ohio, and Patty (Howard) Brown of Sidney; brothers—Gary Koch (Cheryl Mullenburg) of Indianola and Dale Koch of Findlay, Ohio; two grandchildren—Camy and Caden Chapman; numerous extended family members including nieces and nephews.
Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated at a later date.
