Jason Bartels, 36 - March 15, 2017

Jason Allen Bartels, 36, of Brady passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, as a result of injuries from an automobile accident.
Services took place at the Brady School on Tuesday, March 21, with the Rev. Mark Hoffman officiating. Interment was at the Gaslin Cemetery at Brady.
Bartels was born Jan. 4, 1981, at Cozad, son of Mike Bartels and Kathy Hoffman.
He was a graduate of Brady High School Class of 1999. Summers during high school were spent working as a ranch hand, and for several years after high school he worked for various construction companies.
Bartels was the father of two children, Leyha Jane and Hunter Gerald, who were the light of his life, according to family members. His “princess,” Leyha lost her battle with cancer at the age of six in November of 2012.
One of his most recent adventures involved assisting Scott Williams hanging billboards. He also spent the past few years employed with Matt Hatch. He was doing the things he enjoyed while learning about life from his friend. They always played the short side, stated family.
?Bartels was a member of TAP pool league. He loved the game of pool, whether it be with a friend or a foe, the family said.
?He was preceded in death by: his daughter, Leyha; a brother, Jeremy; sister-in-law, Becky; his grandfather, Gerald Brown.
Survivors include: his son, Hunter; his mother, Kathy Hoffman; father, Mike Bartels; step-father, Ron Hoffman; sisters—Jill Miller and Angel Hoffman; grandmother, Velma Jean Brown; nieces—Harley, Preslee and Ashlyn; nephew, Brock; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Memorials are suggested to The Princess Leyha Scholarship Fund.
