Bonny Dunphy, 74 - April 11, 2017

Bonny (Kirstein) Dunphy, 74, of Gothenburg passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Gothenburg.
Services were conducted at Blase-Strauser Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 15, with the Rev. Michael Pampara officiating.
Dunphy was born April 27, 1942, at Neligh, daughter of Everett and Opal (Kraft) Kirstein, at her grandparent’s home.
The family lived at Neligh until moving to Gothenburg in 1958. She graduated from Clarkson School of Nursing earning her RN.
She was employed for numerous years as a Registered Nurse in hospitals and nursing homes throughout her travels. She later worked as a phlebotomist for the Red Cross.
On Feb. 13, 1965, she married Thomas Charles Dunphy at Omaha, becoming an Air Force wife for the next 28 years.
The couple resided at Guam, Missouri, Hawaii, Illinois, Ohio, Germany and California before returning to Gothenburg.
Dunphy was a member of the Catholic Church. Her hobbies included painting, crafts, knitting, crocheting, puzzles and crossword puzzles.
She enjoyed attending auctions and going to garage sales, according to family members. The most important of these was spending time with her family.
?Dunphy was preceded in death by: her parents, Everett and Opal Kirstein; two brothers-in-law—Brian Wagenaar and Richard Ostendorf.
?Survivors include: her husband, Thomas Dunphy of Gothenburg; two sons—Thomas “Tommy” (Charity) Dunphy, II of Gothenburg and Darren (Karen) Knoell of Omaha; her daughter, Stephanie Rucker of Columbus, OH; seven grandchildren—Jordan Rucker, Cameron Rucker, Avery Dunphy, Bethany Dunphy, Brogan Dunphy, Oliver Knoell and Chloe Knoell; two sisters—Janet Ostendorf of Gothenburg and Alyce (Nick) Schaaf of Emmet; three aunts, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
