Tommy Palmer, 79 - March 19, 2017

Tommy Marcott Palmer, 79, of Brady passed away March 19, 2017, at Kearney.
Memorial services were conducted at the Brady school gym on Saturday, April 29, at 10 a.m.
Palmer was born Feb. 18, 1938, at Gothenburg, son of Thomas Virl and Nina (Marcott) Palmer.
He grew up at Brady and graduated from Brady High School with the Class of 1956.
Palmer served his country with the United States Army for two years.
On July 21, 1966, he married Charlotte Moncrief at Lexington. To this union, four children were born.
He owned and operated a laundry mat and a bar in Brady for several years, and started Palmer Auction Service in 1965, retiring in 2010.
Palmer was a big supporter of his community attending functions, school programs and sporting events as well as auctioning for charity and fundraiser events.
He was honored as the Grand Marshal in the 2016 Brady Day’s parade, and was the parade announcer for 13 years.
?Palmer enjoyed hunting and fishing, collecting antiques and spending time at the coffee shop telling stories, according to family members.
?He was preceded in death by: his parents, Thomas Virl and Nina Palmer; father and mother-in-law, Robert and Eilleen Moncrief; a son, Marc Virl Marcott Palmer; brother-in-law, Ken Lewis; nephew, Tony Lewis.
Survivors include: his wife, Charlotte Palmer of Brady; sons—Gerry (Missy) Palmer of Pueblo, CO, and Robert (Tami) Palmer of Brady; his daughter, Denise (Todd) Finnell of Brady; 10 grandchildren; brother-in-law, Robert (Sandi) Moncrief; sisters-in-law—Bev (Gordon) Fitzwater and Joanne Lewis; numerous other family members.
Memorials are suggested to the Brady Fire Department and the Gothenburg Fire Department.
